Qualifying for a Home

Student Partnerships

 

 

Habitat for Humanity offers numerous opportunities to fulfill internship requirements.  Internship positions offer leadership opportunities in these areas:
 
bullet
Building – Assist with Habitat construction, coordinate tools, supplies, equipment, etc.
bullet
Site Selection and Preparation – Assist, plan and prepare the next building lot
bullet
Human Resources – Assist with volunteer management and education
bullet
Family Selection – Assist with Habitat family selection for the next home
bullet
Development Services – Assist with fundraising and community awareness for Habitat
bullet
Family Partnership  - Assist with family support such as tracking and planning sweat equity hours and home owner education
bullet
Finance – Assist with record keeping and donation tracking
 
If you are interested in forming this type of partnership with us, please send a proposal describing an area in which you would like to help.
 
First, please refer to the Volunteering page for specific information on tasks/roles for these committees. 
 
Next, define your plan from these guidelines.  Original ideas are certainly welcome.

Include the intended time commitment (1 hour per week,  3 hours per month, every Sat, etc…)
bullet
Include length of service (1 semester, 1 month, 1 year, etc.)
bullet
Indicate the personal and academic goals of your internship
bullet
Send a rough draft via email or snail mail.  After we receive this, you may call the office at 344-8527 if you would like more information about a specific committee or task.
 
Please have an alternative plan in mind, in case some jobs are taken.
